RUDD, IOWA - Earl Peterson, 72, of 402 Sixth St., died Thursday (June 8, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the West Union Cemetery in West Union.

Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 South Main St. in Charles City is in charge of arrangements.

RUDD, IOWA - Earl Peterson, 72, a resident of 402 Sixth Street, Rudd, died Thursday (June 8, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at West Union Cemetery, West Union. Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 South Main St., Charles City, is in charge of arrangements.

Earl Elmer Peterson was born Nov. 9, 1927, in Fayette County, the son of Elmer and Anna Chase Peterson. He attended West Union High School. He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948 during which he was stationed in Germany. After he was discharged he farmed in the West Union area.

On Aug. 11, 1951, he was united in marriage to Margaret Schroyer at West Union. He was a truck driver for various companies. In 1971 the couple moved to Rudd where they owned and operated "The Friendly Inn" until 1975.

Living family members include his wife, Margaret, of Rudd; daughter, Cheryl, and her husband, Steve Schuster, of Rudd; two sons, Justin and his wife, Lori Peterson, of Rudd, and Joie Peterson of Nora Springs; four grandchildren, Jason and Mindy Schuster and Stephanie and Thomas L. Peterson; a great-grandson, Joshua Groven; two stepgrandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Evans; a brother, Elwyn Peterson of West Union; and a sister, Linda, and her husband, Bill Dodson, of West Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Leslie Earl and Thomas L.
