FOR GUY WATERS

Former Local Barber
Dies; Buried at Rock
Grove Cemetery.

Guy H. Waters, 64, died Sunday morning, October 30, in a hospital at Albert Lea, Minn. where he had undergone surgery about a week before. A long-time resident of Nora Springs, he had been a barber here until 1941, when he moved to Elmore, Minn., where he operated a cafe until his death.

Funeral services were held at Elmore Wednesday morning, November 2; and the body was brought to Nora Springs, where the rites were conducted at the Sheckler funeral home at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Clair Hicks of Mason City officiated at the funeral. Interment was in Rock Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Waters was born on a farm at Niles, near Charles City, October 17, 1891, a son of Winfield and Cordelia (Wilde) Waters. He was married to Georgia Farley, who died in July 1943; and in 1947, he was married to Mary Spangenberg. He attended school at Rock Grove, and also attended the Nora Springs Seminary.

He is survived by his widow; his mother, Mrs. W. S. Waters, 90,of Nora Springs; one sister, Mrs. E. A. (Alice) Tressel of Webster City; and one brother, Frank Waters of Mason City.
