MARBLE ROCK, IOWA - Ashley Marie Marzen, 15, of 2969 Dancer Ave., died Saturday (April 17, 1999) at University Hospitals, Iowa City. She was the daughter of Joseph and Germaine Marzen.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. (515)423-2372.

ASHLEY MARIE MARZEN

MARBLE ROCK - Ashley Marie Marzen, 15, daughter of Joseph and Germaine Marzen, 2969 Dancer Ave., Marble Rock, died Saturday (April 17, 1999) at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty, with the Rev. Stephen Meyer and the Rev. David Hemann concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Dougherty.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today at St. Patrick's Catholic School, Dougherty, with a scriptural prayer service beginning at 7 p.m.

Ashley Marie Marzen was born November 9, 1983, in Mason City, daughter of Joseph and Germaine (Hemann) Marzen. She was a freshman at Rockford Senior High School.

Ashley loved playing volleyball and softball, biking, reading poems and playing cards and computer games. She enjoyed joking with her family and being with her friends.

Her favorite TV show was "Touched By An Angel". She has been battling cancer since July 25, 1998. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Dougherty.

She will be sadly missed by her parents, Joseph and Germaine; her sister, Rebecca, and her two brothers, Tim and Travis, all of Marble Rock; her maternal grandparents, Alfred and Darlene Hemann, Stacyville; her paternal grandparents, Leo and Bernadine Marzen, Dougherty; 32 aunts and uncles; 35 cousins; her godparents, Leanne Tatone, Colorado Springs, Colo., and John Hemann, Stacyville; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, Mary and John Hemann, and Mary and John Thome; and her paternal great-grandparents, Ted and Babe Boom, and Andy and Louise Marzen.

Hogan-Bremer Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City, is in charge of arrangements.
