NELVA AUBUCHON

URBANA, ILLINOIS - Nelva (Shanks) Aubuchon, 75, of Urbana, Illinois, passed away Sunday, April 11, 1999, at Carle Hospital, Urbana, Illinois.

There will be no visitation or services, that being her wish.

Mrs. Aubuchon was born July 10, 1923, at Nora Springs, a daughter of Arthur and Myra (Roberts) Shanks. She graduated from Rudd High School in 1940 and then from Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, Minn. She then joined the Army Nurse Corps during World War II and then was employed by the Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana, Ill., until retirement.

On May 14, 1946, she was united in marriage to Alvin James Aubuchon of Chicago, Illinois. They made their home in Urbana, Illinois, where they became the parents of two children, Carol Lynn and Roger James.

Alvin Aubuchon died Feb. 2, 1988, and Carol Lynn Aubuchon died April 1, 1994. Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother, Roger Shanks; and two sisters, Doris who died in infancy and Ruth (Shanks) Tomey.

Survivors include her son, Roger and his wife, Chris, of Crystal Lake, Illinois; two granddaughters, Allison and Sarah Aubuchon; and a sister, Jean Moeller, of Rudd; and nieces and nephews.

Renner-Wikoff Funeral Home, Urbana, Illinois, was in charge of arrangements.
