RICHARD 'DICK' DEBUHR

ROCKFORD, IOWA - Richard "Dick" deBuhr, 57, of 1929 Grass Ave., died Saturday (April 10, 1999) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.

Funeral services will held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Rudd United Methodist Church with the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Interment to follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Fullerton Schumburg Funeral Home, 302 West Main, Rockford. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to direct memorials to the Richard deBuhr Memorial Fund.

Richard was born June 16, 1941, the son of John and Edna (Ewald) deBuhr, in Charles City. He grew up in the Rockford area and later graduated from Rockford High School.

On Nov. 2, 1968, Richard was united in marriage to Velda Koehler at the Rudd United Methodist Church. To this union were born three children.

Cars were a big part of Dick's life. He enjoyed the time spent restoring a 1959 Ford convertible and going to car shows. He also enjoyed the restoration and painting process of all types of automobiles. Dick looked forward to the fishing trips to Lake Winnibigoshish, also known as Lake Winnie. Dick had a true passion for farming and loved working the land. But his most precious time was spent with his three grandchildren.

Those thankful for having shared in Dick's life include his wife, Velda; two daughters, Lori and her husband, Ed Paulus, of Rockford, and Cindy and her husband, Troy Schriever of Marble Rock; one son, Steve and his wife, Angie deBuhr of Rockford; his mother, Edna deBuhr; two sisters, Joanne O'Conner of Waterloo, and Nancy and her husband, Bob Klemesrud, of Nora Springs; mother-in-law, Mildred Koehler of Nora Springs; brother-in-law, Roger and his wife, Sherry Koehler, of Rudd; three grandchildren, Kyle deBuhr, Andrew Schriever, and Madelyn Paulus; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, John deBuhr, in August of 1967.
