MRS. ALVIN (ESTHER) MORSE

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Mrs. Alvin (Esther) Morse, 92, a former resident of 704 J. St., Charles City, died Monday (Sept. 25, 2000) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 South Main St., with the Rev. Robert Porisch, pastor of First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Esther Zeta Bever Morse was born August 15, 1908, at Dallas Center, the daughter of Franklin C. and Bessie M. (Britton) Bever. She graduated from Adel High School and taught rural school for two years.

On Jan. 1, 1931, she married Alvin A. Morse at Dallas Center. They lived in the Charles City area for the past 55 years. She was a former member of the West St. Charles United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Friendly Birthday Club, the Garden Club and the Charles City Women's Club.

Living family members include three daughters, Marjorie and her husband, Bob Nordmeyer, of Greene, Jan and her husband, Galen Leraaen, of St. Ansgar and Linda Montet and her husband, Bruce Balentine, of West Des Moines; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Wenger, of St. Ansgar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1995, two infant sons, a brother and two sisters.
