CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Kenneth E. Viers, 61, of 601 16th Ave., died Friday (May 8, 1998) at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dennis D. Niezwaag officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, with military honors by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with the family greeting friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be additional visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Kenneth Eugene Viers was born April 8, 1937 in Greene.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Viers, of Charles City; one son, Darren Viers, of Charles City; and one daughter, Donna Jo Marvel, of Westminster, Colo.; nine grandchildren; his parents, Gene and Ruth Viers, of Greene; three brothers, Jim Viers, of Rockwell City, Robert Viers, of Waterloo, and Dennis Viers, of Greene.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
