CHARLES CITY — Raymond "Ray" Fluhrer, 96, a former resident of 700 Ninth St., died Monday (Oct. 19, 1998) at the Salsbury Baptist Home in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, with the Rev. Blair Rohde-Frank, pastor of West St. Charles United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday.

Raymond Albert Fluhrer was born Aug. 15, 1902, in St. Charles Township, Floyd County, Iowa.

Survivors include two sons, Gary, of Seattle, Wash. and Alan of West Covina, Calif.; and a sister, Arlene Fluhrer, of Charles City; four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three sisters.

Memorial may be directed to the Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City Center.
