RITES HELD FOR MURDER VICTIM
CHURCH FILLED FOR SERVICES
Dorothy Carter Buried in Riverside Cemetery; Killed by Sweetheart

Charles City – The Colwell Congregational church was filled in both the main auditorium and basement Wednesday afternoon by persons attending the funeral services for Dorothy Jean Carter who was murdered by her sweetheart, Warner Blewett, Monday.

The Rev. Alee Russell preached the sermon and a sextet from the Colwell consolidated school sang three numbers. Miss Marie Baker, music supervisor of the school, played the accompaniments. Floral tributes filled the front of the church. Dorothy was president of her class.

The casket bearers were Leland Chestik, Rupert Rowley, Forrest Thompson, Marvin Cross, Lester Bilharz and Lewis Tjaden. Burial was made in Riverside cemetery, Charles City.
