Ardene E. Jorgensen, 82, of Charles City, died on Friday, August 27, 2010, at the 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City.

Funeral services for Ardene Jorgensen will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. Pastor Dennis Niezwaag and Pastor David Werges will officiate. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, rural Charles City.

Friends may call at the Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Ardene Edna Troge was born August 28, 1927, in rural Osage, the daughter of Paul and Mabel (Brandau) Troge, one of seven children. She was baptized on September 18, 1927, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osage and Confirmed on June 23, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Osage. Ardene was raised and educated in country and town schools in the Osage and Floyd areas and graduated from Charles City in 1945. On March 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bernard M. Meyer at the Lutheran Church in New Hampton. The two of them were employed at the Oliver Corporation and were blessed with two daughters, Connie and Nancy. Bernard passed away on September 29, 1954. On July 24, 1957, she was united in marriage to Richard A. Jorgensen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. On April 1, 1958, the two of them were blessed with triplets, Jennifer, Janene and Jeffrey. They all passed away within a week. Ardene was a bookkeeper for 20 years at their business, Phillips Dick’s 66 Service Station and Tank Wagon Delivery. She was a member of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church. Ardene enjoyed their trips to Acapulco, San Juan, Aruba and many other travels in the United States. Richard passed away on May 11, 1980. Her interests included Heritage Club, traveling, shopping, reading, crocheting, word find puzzles, making photo albums, collecting elephants, Big Ten Football “Go Hawks!” and dearly loved and looked forward to spending time with her family.

Living family members include her two daughters, Connie (Chris) Friedrich of Charles City and Nancy (David) McCord of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Michelle (Tim) Schlader, Kimberly (Craig) Niichel, Jennifer (Colbin) Erdahl, Kelly Bartlett (Chris Spalding) and Chad (Sarah) Bartlett; step-granddaughter, Stephanie McCord; eight great grandchildren, Derek, Ashley and Zachary Schlader, Seth, Jake and Sam Niichel, Clark Erdahl and Caleb Bartlett; two sisters, Shirley Boggess and Sandra Troge both of Mason City; brother, Gary Show of Mason City; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Troge and Judy Troge both of Charles City; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, triplets, two brothers, Kenneth and Jack Troge; and a sister, Beverly Johnson.
