Date Of Death: August 27, 2010Michele M. Harrold, 53, of Charles City, died Friday, August 27, 2010, at her home.
A memorial Mass for Michele Harrold will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Inurnment will be at a later date. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on Wednesday.
Michele Maria White was born September 11, 1956, in Charles City, the daughter of Harold Eldon and Joan (McCauley) White. She graduated from the Charles City High School and Hamilton College. After college, Michele was employed as a dental assistant.
On August 18, 1979, she was united in marriage to Bruce Harrold. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Michele volunteered at Paws Animal Shelter, where she became co-director. She worked actively with various fundraisers and wanted the best for animals. Her love for animals was inspiring for others around her. Michele’s interests included planting, especially roses, working on her backyard pond, going on picnics, her pets, namely her dog Lucy, who followed her around and spending time with her family.
Living family members include her husband, Bruce Harrold of Charles City; three children, Michael Harrold of Waterloo, Amy Harrold of Cedar Falls and Nick Harrold of Charles City; mother, Joan White of Raceland, La.; two sisters, Mary (Tobie) Chauvin of Raceland, La. and Chris White of Gray, La.; niece Tammy (Mark) Walters of Renton, Wash.; father-in-law, William (Dian) Harrold, Sr. of Charles City; three brothers-in-law, Bob (Tonya) Harrold of Orlando, Fla., William (Barb) Harrold, Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla. and Mark Hagen of Portland, Wash.; and two sisters-in-law, Barb (John) Jannse of San Francisco, Calif. and Becky (Chester) Scott of Lamoure, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Eldon White; step-father, Don Molitor; and mother-in-law, Betty Harrold.
