CHARLES CITY — Vernon Vanberg, 85, a former resident of 905 Seventh Ave., died Wednesday (Dec. 10, 1997) at the Salsbury Baptist Home.

Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Bodelson-Mahn Funeral Home, Red Wing, Minn., with the Rev. Kathryn Campbell, pastor of the Grace Episcopal Church, Charles City, officiating. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing, Minn.

There will be no public visitation. The Hauser Funeral Home, Inc., 1205 S. Main St., Charles City is in charge of local arrangements.

Vernon Edward Vanberg was born Aug. 18, 1912, at Red Wing, Minn.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane L. Stowe, Charles City; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Francis Mlinar, of Hopkins, Minn. And Leona Geisler, of Reids Landing, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one brother.

Memorials may be directed to the First Grace Episcopal Church or Hospice of North Iowa, both of Charles City.
