CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Thomas R. Logan, 41, 303 Oak Park Circle, Waterloo, and formerly of Charles City, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Dec. 9, 1997) at his residence of an apparent heart attack.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, U.S. Highway 18 and Clark Streets, with Monsignor Stanley J. Hayek officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., with a Parish Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to Mass on Friday morning at the church.

Thomas Raymond Logan was born Dec. 28, 1955, in Charles City, the son of Earl Raymond and Thelma Jean (Christensen) Logan.

Tom attended school in Charles City and graduated from Charles City Community High School in 1974.

During his high school days, Tom began to work in the parts department of the former Bissonette Chevrolet in Charles City as part of the Co-op program of Charles City Community High School. He remained with Bissonette Chevrolet for several years before moving to Waterloo to become the parts manager of the John Deery Motor Company. Tom then took a similar position with Reed Auto Plaza. At the time of his death, Tom was the parts manager for C & S Car Company of Waterloo.

Tom was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Charles City. While living in Charles City, Tom used to drive a drag racing car at the NITA Raceway in Waterloo.

Living family members include his mother, Thelma Jean Logan, of Charles City; a sister and her husband, Becky and Lloyd Severin, of Charles City; and two nieces, Hannah and Chelsea Severin, of Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Raymond Logan; and his brother, Dennis Earl Logan, who died September 6, 1996.
