Peter William Darter

RUDD, IOWA — Peter William Darter, 90, of Osage, formerly of Rudd, died on Thursday, March 5, 1998, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Rudd Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. John Hand and the Rev. Jerry Newland, officiat-ing. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Peter was born August 20, 1907, in Iola, Kansas.

He is survived by three daughters, Joy Beckman, of Nora Springs; Betty Balkenende, of De Funiak Springs, Fla.; and Vera Blair, of Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Roy Darter, of Welches, Ore.; four sisters, Mary Carr, Cabool, Mo.; Edith Schampnoc, St. Joseph, Mo.; Christine Chase, of Cabool, Mo.; and Peggy Sig-man, of Cabool, Mo.; three broth-ers, John Darter, of Cabool, Mo.; Paul Darter, of Cabool, Mo.; and Gene Darter, of Aurora, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, an infant daughter, two brothers, and three sisters.
