CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Brown F. Martin, owner and operator of the Martin Deep Rock Oil Co. here for over 30 years, died Saturday, May 25, 1985, in a Charles City nursing home. He was 82.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main, Charles City.

The Rev. Vernon Sorenson, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Visitation will be after 7:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin was born March 16, 1903, in Floyd, to Franklin and Lina (Brown) Martin. He graduated from Floyd High School and attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette.

On Aug. 18, 1926, he married Beatrice Hummel in Sterling, Colo. She died in 1982. Mr. Martin retired from his oil company business in 1967.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the St. Charles Masonic Lodge here.
