CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Sylvan M. George, 69, 1515 Clark St., Charles City, died Saturday, May 26, 1985, at a Charles City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home here with Dr. Paul Heath, associate pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Sylvan George was born April 6, 1916 at Forest City, the son of Julius and Matie (Holt) George. He received his education in Forest City schools, and on January 19, 1938, he married Ruth Runtzel at Forest City.

He was employed at Schmidt Plumbing and Heating, Charles City from 1956 until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. Charles City.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; one daughter, Mrs. Albert (Judy) Reinke, Brownsdale, Minnesota; two sons, Dennis of Ionia, and Bill, Fresno, California; one brother, Carroll George, of Forest City, and four grandchildren.
