CLARK FUNERAL SERVICES HELD
Rites for Former Supervisor in Floyd
Held in Church at Nora Springs.NORA SPRINGS — Funeral services for Fred C. Clark, 63, were held Thursday morning at the Church of Christ with the Rev. G. A. Hess of Charles City assisted by the Rev. Mr. Sarchett of Randalia, conducting the services. Mrs. Sturges Morphew and Miss Maxine Morphew sang with Mrs. E. E. Chenoweth accompanying. Burial was at Union.
Mr. Clark was born July 4, 1872, at Westfield, Indiana. At the age of seven he came with his parents to Iowa where they established a home near Bangor. He attended Drake University in Des Moines in the winters of 1891, 1892 and 1893, where he was a member of the first football team the school ever had.
On November 6 1895, Mr. Clark was married to Melissa Frances Spears. They established their residence near Union where they lived until 1909 when they moved to Nashua, in 1912 they moved to a farm four miles north of Nora Springs where they lived until the past few years which were spent in Nora Springs.
Mr. Clark was a member of the local Odd Fellows lodge which he served as noble grand for two years, he served more than 20 years on the board of education, 16 years as township trustee and two terms as county supervisor, his last term expiring in January.
He is survived by his wife and seven children: Paul C., Le Mars; Veil H., El Paso, Texas; Wade H., Dubuque; Mrs. E. T. Marshall, Boone; Max R., Randalia; Edward Dale, Fort Worth, Texas, and Roger at home; one brother, Harry Clark of Union and four grandchildren.
