Kathleen P. Peters, 68, of Charles City, died Tuesday, May 11, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

A funeral Mass for Kathleen Peters will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Reverend Carl Ries will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City.

Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday where there will be a Vigil Scriptural Wake Service at 4:30 p.m. and the Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. Visitation will continue an hour before the Mass at the church on Friday.

Kathleen Patricia Loughin was born December 21, 1941, at Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Virginia (Dertz) Loughin. She graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest, Ill. Kathleen was employed for five years as a practical nurse in Oak Park, Ill. On February 2, 1963, she was united in marriage to Frank Peters at St. Edmond Church in Oak Park, Ill. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City. Her interests included her pet cats, reading, dancing, flower gardening, cooking, baking and her doll collection.

Living family members include her husband, Frank Peters of Charles City; four children, Theresa “Teri” (David) Allen of Chicago, Ill., Joseph (Rachel) Peters of Sylvania, Ohio, Mark Peters of Charles City and Sharon (Lachlan) McLean of Centennial, Colo.; three grandchildren, Isabella, Joseph and Joshua Peters; several cousins; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, James Chambers.
