CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Robert D. Murphy, 83, died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sunnyside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Kelly of Maple Heights Assembly of God Church, rural Charles City, officiating. Burial, with military rites provided by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit, will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the family.

Robert D. Murphy was born January 13, 1916, in Panora.

Survivors include his wife, Velma, of Charles City; two sisters, Ruth Moore of Nevada and Marjorie Steele of Oregon; and one brother, Jerold, of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
