Robert "Bob" John Krueger

February 2, 1927 - March 31, 2010

NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Robert John “Bob” Krueger, 83, of 1740 Dogwood Avenue, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City.

A funeral service for Robert will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye Avenue, Nora Springs, with Reverend Dr. Jennifer Edinger from the St. Luke Lutheran Church, Nora Springs. Burial will take place in Park Cemetery, Nora Springs; with military honors conducted by members of American Legion H.D.S. Post 449.

A visitation will be held today from 5-7 p.m. at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Robert J. Krueger Memorial in care of Randy Demaray, 1371 170th Street, Nora Springs, Iowa 50458.

Robert John Krueger was born February 2, 1927, in Nora Springs on the family farm, the son of William and Anna (Neilsen) Krueger. Bob attend Prairie Center Country School, Rockford. In Bob’s younger years he raised livestock and later ran a grain farm operation. He enlisted and served during World War II in the United States Army and was later honorably discharged.

Bob loved his dogs, bowling on a league in his younger years, playing horseshoes, working on lawn mowers and mowing the lawn, playing card games, and watching old western movies. He will be greatly remembered for being a great neighbor, friend, and companion; if you ever needed anything, Bob would be there to help. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 0449.

Bob is survived by his special neighbors and friends, Randy (Wendy) Demaray, Nora Springs, and their family Natalie (Will) Wedeking, Abigayle Wedeking, Gabrielle Wedeking, all of Marble Rock, Brandon “Tuffy” Demaray, Scottsdale, Arizona; companion Alice Warburton, Nora Springs, cousins, Burr (Marvelle) Squier, Rudd, Betty Squier, Clear Lake, and Crystal Squier, Nora Springs; along with other relatives and dear friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Krueger.
