Raymond M. Koehler

Raymond Milton Koehler, 93, of Rockford, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at his home.

Private family funeral services for Ray Koehler were held Monday, March 1, 2010. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Ray Koehler was born September 14, 1916, in Ulster Township, the son of Wesley and Ida (Ziebell) Koehler. He graduated from the Rockford High School. On June 12, 1942, he was united in marriage to Ruth Marth. Ray farmed all of his life on his century farm where he lived.

He was a member of the West Saint Charles United Methodist Church. He loved being on his farm and his dog, Bob. Family was the most important thing to Ray, and he loved the time they all spent together.

Living family members include his two daughters, Myrna (Rand) Pitkin of Rockford and Ann (Dave) Sudduth of Fort Collins, Colo.; six grandchildren, Shane (Stef) Pitkin, Shamus Pitkin, Seth Pitkin and his fiancée, Liz Klus, Sean Pitkin, Jessica Sudduth and Sean Sudduth; two great grandchildren, Alexis Pitkin and Barrin Hendricks; two sisters, Carol Burkhardt of Waverly and Geri Dancliff of Cheyenne, Wyo.; sister-in-law, Janet (Wayne) Rawley of Iowa City; brothers-in-law, Harold (Bonnie) Marth of Rockford and Richard (Nancy) Marth of Marian; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant son, Charles; sisters; and brothers.
