Lyle Irvin Brakel
CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Lyle I. Brakel, 72, of 810 Freeman St., died Thursday, Jan. 25, 1996, at St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Fullerton Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St., with the Rev. John G. Bissett, senior pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Lyle Irvin Brakel was born Feb. 2, 1923, in rural Cerro Gordo County, near the Portland area.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita, of Charles City; three sons, Dennis Brakel, Charles City; Dean Brakel of Caribou, Maine, and Michael Brakel of Forest City; two daughters, Linda Lantz of Rudd and Patricia Scholbrock of Lawler; two stepsons, Craig Dietrich of Northome, Minn., and Daniel Dietrich of Ten Strike, Minn.; two stepdaughters, Ayleen Wallin of Black Duck, Minn., and Pat Troxler of Germany; one brother, Dale Brakel of Mason City; 15 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
