CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Joseph Thoe, 73, of 309 16th Ave., died Sunday (Dec. 29, 1996) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag and the Rev. Karen Rask Behling officiating. Burial will be Sunnyside Memory Gardens, with military honors conducted by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit.

Visitation will be held from noon until 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., Charles City, and one hour before services at the church on Friday.

Joseph Ervin Thoe was born April 28, 1923, in Mower County, Minn.

Survivors include his wife, Clarinda of Charles City; one son, David Thoe of Golden, Colo.; two daughters, Connie Marlow of Charles City, and Debra Thoe of Bricelyn, Minn.; three brothers, Arthur Thoe of Charles City, Norman Thoe and Donald Thoe, both of Lake City, Minn.; three sisters, Ruth Maasch of Rochester, Minn., Dorothy Ustby, of Pine Island, Minn., and Lois Wilder of Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
