RUDD, IOWA -- Raymond Melcher, 93, of Nora Springs, and formerly of Rudd, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2001, at Nora Springs Care Center of natural causes.

Survivors include a son, Roger of Rudd; and a sister, Helen Irons of Clarence.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna, in 1997; a son, Norman; six brothers; and a sister.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rudd United Methodist Church, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Rudd. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hauser Funeral Home, Charles City, and for an hour before services at the church.

Mr. Melcher farmed near Rudd from 1940 to 1996.
