CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Justin M. Gebel, 21, of 17581 120th St. in Greene, Iowa, died Thursday (June 20, 2007) at the Mercy Medical Center of North Iowa in Mason City, as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, (June 23, 2007) at Riverside Cemetery, 59 Riverside Dr., in Charles City with the Rev. Dennis Niezwaag officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Charles City. The family will greet relatives from 10:00 to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City.

Justin Michael Gebel was born on May 3, 1986 in Britt, Iowa, to Michael and Lisa (Bunston) Schmidt. He attended school in Charles City, IA, graduating from the Charles City High School, class of 2004. Justin furthered his education having attended Farrier School in Purcell, Oklahoma, completing his training in May of 2004. Justin was united in marriage to Stephanie Sue Myers on October 27, 2006 in Charles City.

Throughout life Justin had been active in the 4-H Club, Future Farmers of America, both in Charles City; the American Quarter Horse Association.

Justin had been employed as a welding fabricator for McNeilus Manufacturing in Mason City and also owned and operated Gebel Horseshoeing. He was a certified journeyman and a member of the Brotherhood of Working Farriers. His passion in life were horses. He enjoyed all horses, trail riding, harness racing with his grandfather, his own personal horse “Buck” a quarter horse and his dog “Rose” and she is a Red Heeler. He had a special place in his heart for elderly people and enjoyed talking with them. Perhaps his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and friends.

Justin will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who loved and knew him.
Those grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in his life are his wife, Stephanie Gebel of Greene; his parents, Chris and Lisa Gebel of Charles City; two sisters, Lacy Gebel and Amanda Gebel, both of Charles City; maternal grandparents, Pat and Lyle Bunston of Goldfield, Iowa; paternal grandparents, Milton and Eleanor Schmidt of Nashua, Iowa and Bob and Agnes Gebel of North Washington, Iowa, as well as numerous relatives and friends that survive him.

Justin was preceded in death by his father, Michael Schmidt; great-grandparents, Steve and Martha Bunston and Carl and Josephine Freiberg and his uncle, Steven Schmidt.
