ROCKFORD, IOWA - Juanita D. Nielsen, 83, of 301 7th St. NE, Rockford, Iowa, died early Friday morning, July 20, 2007 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 on Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Rockford First United Methodist Church, 21 3rd St. NW. Officiating will be the Rev. Kenneth Kent. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church. Inurnment of Juanita was conducted at an earlier date at Union Cemetery next to her husband Willard in Iowa Falls. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hospice of North Iowa. There will be a time of remembrances following the service in the church fellowship hall.

Juanita was born on January 13, 1924 at Traer, Iowa the daughter of Oran Earl Adams and Edith Dewey. She is a graduate of Iowa Falls High School the year of 1942. Shortly after graduation she was united in marriage to Willard Nielsen on May 2, 1942 in Iowa Falls. They served as the camp cook and camp ranger for 26 years at the Winnebago Scout Camp in Marble Rock and then lived in Rockford for 20 years. Juanita is a member of the Rockford United Methodist Church. She spent her spare time doing plastic canvas stitching, mushroom hunting, gardening and camping along with really hard 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles.

Those thankful in sharing Juanita‚s life include her daughter Lorrie and her husband Ray Carver, Richmond, VA; two grandchildren Dennis P. Nielsen and his wife Dedre, Texas; Michelle and her husband Tom Doole, Colorado Spring, CO; four great grandchildren Nichole, Britny, Justin and Jeremy; two sisters Helen and her husband Gene Gard, McAllen, TX; Floraine and her husband Urban Kuennen, Oelwein, IA; one brother DeWayne Adams, Hollister, MO.

Her husband Willard, who died in November of 1991, her son Larry, who died in 1971 her second son Dennis, who died July 2, 2007, two brothers, Donald and George Adams, and one sister, Donna Mae Knutson precedes her in death.
