FLOYD, IOWA - Ronald E. Mannetter, 67, of 605 Jefferson St. in Floyd, died Sunday morning, (July 1, 2007) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (July 6, 2007) at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 S. Main St., in Charles City, with Rev. David Werges and Pastor LaVonne R. Kaasa officiating. Interment will take place in Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City. Military Rites will be accorded by the Charles City Ceremonial Unit. The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church in Charles City. Those wishing to extend memorials or expressions of sympathy may direct them to the family, in care of Ronald’s daughter, Ann Bettesworth, 103 Chautauqua Ave., Charles City, IA 50616.

Ronald Eugene Mannetter was born May 17, 1940 in Waverly, Iowa to Oswald A. “O.A.” and Malinda (Nieman) Mannetter. He grew up in Waverly, IA and attended school in Colwell, graduating in 1957. He married Martha (Crooks) Sierocki and they had three daughters, Ann, Christina and Melissa, the couple later divorced.

On August 22, 2001 Ronald was united in marriage to Caridad “Carrie” T. Kerr. Ronald was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country honorably and faithfully, during the Vietnam conflict. He was employed as an assembler with White Farm in Charles City for 33 years, retiring in 1994.
Ronald enjoyed tractors, antique cars, attending the threshers reunion, hunting, camping and fishing. Ronald took great pleasure and pride in spending time with his family. He will be best remembered by his family as being gentle, giving, caring and having a wonderful sense of humor.

Grateful for having had the privilege of sharing in Ronald’s life are his wife, Caridad “Carrie” Mannetter of Floyd; three daughters, Ann (Vincent) Bettesworth of Charles City, Christina Mannetter of Nashua and Melissa Mannetter of Charles City; two step-daughters, Michelle Hesse of Bassett, Iowa, Rosanna (John) Onken of Mason City; two grandchildren, Morgan and Brandy Bettesworth; seven step-grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Tiffany, Brooke, Blake, Carrie Ann and Cortney Jane; three sisters, Muriel (Richard) Kempf of Longmont, CO, Jan (Ken) Shepley of Runnells, IA and Karol Mosiman of Mason City; two brothers, Alan Mannetter of Mesa, AZ and Kenin (Teresa) Mannetter of Charles City, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ronald in death are his parents, O.A. and Malinda Mannetter; a brother, Lynn Mannetter and a sister-in-law, Patricia Mannetter.
