CHARLES CITY, Iowa - Ruth E. Wiltse, 93, of the 9th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City, IA died Tuesday, (July 3, 2007) at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, (July 7, 2007) at Bethany Alliance Church, 1100 Clinton St. in Charles City, with Pastor Kent Sovine officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in rural Powersville, Iowa.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, at the Fullerton-Hage Funeral Home, 401 Blunt St. in Charles City. The visitation will continue one hour prior to Ruth’s services Saturday at the church.

Ruth was born February 19, 1914 in rural Chickasaw County, IA. She was the daughter of Mary “Pearl” and Charles Lafayette Bonwell. She married Eugene W. Wiltse on August 24, 1934.

Ruth attended country school during her elementary years. Her high school years were at Nashua and Charles City with her graduating from Charles City. She taught at a country school for two years after her high school graduation. Ruth’s family was her life and that extended to the grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was very open and committed to loving and serving others first.

Ruth is survived by two daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Schroeder of Washburn, Iowa, and Carole (Joe) Foxen of Charles City; a son, David (Joanne) of Charles City; a son-in-law, Roy A. Lewis of West Branch, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren, a brother, Merland “Mick” Bonwell of Charles City; three half-sisters, Cornelia “June” Smeltzer, Patricia (Gerald) Nordmoe and Joan Wallis, all of Rockford, Illinois. and two half-brothers, Edward Bonwell and Richard Bonwell, both of Oregon She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene, her daughter, Lorna Lewis; two sisters; two brothers; one half-sister and two half-brothers.

Memorials, (in lieu of flowers), may be directed to the family, in C/O of her daughter, Carole Foxen, 113 Central Ave., Charles City, IA 50616.
