CHARLES CITY -- Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hauser Funeral Home for Mrs. William Benz, 43, who died Friday at her home, at 404 South Johnson street, after an illness of more than a year. She had been suffering from cancer of the stomach. Burial will be in Rock Grove cemetery, Nora Springs.

She was born May 2, 1905, at Cresco, daughter of Henry and Anna Hefner Rethamel, and came to Charles City with her husband in 1928. They left in 1930 and returned in 1935.

She leaves her husband, two daughters, Donna Mae, 13, and Norma Jean, 12; five sisters: Mrs. George Evans and Mrs. Paul Groves, both of Mason City; Mrs. L.W. Fingalson, Nora Springs; Mrs. Charles Hoblit, Rock Falls; one brother, Fred Rethamel, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
