Orlando Buschbom

WATERLOO, IOWA — Orlando Buschbom, 97, of Waterloo, formerly of Charles City, died Saturday Oct. 24, 2009, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, with burial in Hillside Cemetery, State Center. Public visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and also one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.

He was born November 15, 1911, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Henry Adam and Amelia Barbara Udhe Buschbom. He married Margaret May Locke on May 29, 1935, in Ackley. She died March 12, 2008.

Mr. Buschbom was employed with the Oliver Corporation in Charles City for 37 years.

Survivors include: two sons, Charles Edwin (Karen) of Shelton, Washington, and Robert Ray (Jody) of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Shirley Evelyn Hanson and Bernice in infancy; two brothers, Harley and Elwood Buschbom; and four sisters: Adelia Buschbom, Evelyn Buschbom, Elnora Buschbom and Bernadine Jones.
