PLANO, TEXAS — Estella Agatha Fischer, 99, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2009, in Plano, Texas (a Dallas suburb).

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Calvary Cemetery with Monsignor Stanley Hayek presiding.

She was born on July 3, 1910, in Richmond, Minnesota. She married Harold Carl Fischer in Minneapolis in 1951 and he preceded her death in 1971. Her parents, Nicholas and Frances (Wieber) Klein and five brothers and three sisters all preceded her in death. Her brother, Raymond Klein, 91, is the surviving sibling of 10 children and lives in Marshall, Minn.

In 1952, Estella moved to Charles City, Iowa, Mr. Fischer’s hometown, where she was a homemaker. She is survived by their only child, Carl H. Fischer and his children, Daniel and Sarah, all of Dallas, Texas.

As a devout Catholic, her faith was her cornerstone. She was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church and St. Jude Circle, and was a long term Third Order Lay Carmelite. She was involved in many church activities and a volunteer for various community organizations. Estella was fortunate to travel throughout her life, including a trip to Europe and The Vatican. She has resided in a nursing home in Plano, close to her son, since 2002.
