BORN IN ROCKFORD

MASON CITY, IOWA - Helen Ella Eggena, 94, of Mason City died on Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Good Shepherd Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Donna Steven of First Presbyterian Church, Lakota, officiating. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery in Rockford. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be directed to the Helen Eggena Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Helen was born on August 15, 1915, in Rockford, Iowa, the daughter of James L. and Sophia (Fuller) Brewer.

Helen is survived by her sisters, June Bernhardt, Claudia Paulson and Genevieve Hoeppner; daughter-in-law, Anita Mundt; grandchildren, Promise Anna Mundt, Robert Allen Mundt Jr. and wife Kristen, James Edward Mundt and wife Kim; and great-grandson, Logan Michael Fateley. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, William G. Mundt and Robert A. Mundt Sr.; two brothers, James Brewer and Fletcher Brewer; and a sister, Rilla Turner.
