Elynn Davidson

Elynn Davidson, 47, of San Diego, Calif., and formerly of Charles City, died Sept. 9, 2009.

A service will be held in San Diego with a graveside service in Charles City at a later date.

Elynn Norma Davidson was born on August 8, 1962, in Charles City to Irving and Elaine (Mitchell) Davidson. She attended Charles City Community Schools, graduating in 1980. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. She received her LPN degree from Southern Oklahoma Area Vocational-Technical Center in 1993. In 1999, she graduated with a BS in Nursing from University of Iowa. Elynn worked in Iowa and California as a psychiatric nurse. She was a devoted advocate for her patients’ rights and dignity.

Her father, Irving Davidson, died in 1988.

She is survived by her mother, Elaine Davidson of San Diego; a son, Todd (Danielle) Davidson of Gardena, Calif.; two sisters, Noreen (James) Shirk of San Diego and Ione (Mathieu) Jazbinschekof Vancouver, Wash.; and a brother, Michael Davidson of Charles City. She had three nieces and one nephew, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her family and her faith were a comfort as she suffered through a long illness.
