ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Funeral services were here Monday for Mrs. George Johnson, age 80, who died in Cedar Valley Hospital at Charles City following a heart attack; had been in poor health several years.

Her parents were Andrew and Lucinde Halvorson. Born Sept. 4, 1874 on the Halvorson farm one and one-half miles south Ansgar, she was the oldest of a family of 12 children. She attended rural schools.

On July 2, 1897 was married to George Johnson. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1947. She was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church.

She leaves a husband; three sons: Selmer and Kenneth, of this community, and Alvin of Orchard, Iowa; also two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by a son, Morris, in 1934; also by her parents; two brothers; four sisters: Clara Halvorson and Mrs. C. I. Dahl, of this place; Mrs. Maria Dahl, Mason City,
and Mrs. Frank Spender, Boonton, New Jersey; five brothers, Martin, George, Clarence, Elmer
and Irvin, St. Ansgar.
