Former Charles City Woman's Body Taken to Decorah for Burial

CHARLES CITY, IOWA - March 3, 1934 — Funeral mass was held to the Catholic Church at Peoria,Illinois this morning for Mrs. H. J. Halvorson, former resident here and mother of Mrs. Horace B. Olds.

Further services are to be held in Decorah with burial there.

Mrs. Halvorson was killed Wednesday evening when she was struck by an automobile near her home in Peoria. The family lived here for seven years and moved to Peoria about four years ago. Mr. Halvorson was manager of the Graham and later the D. K. Lundberg store. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Olds were in Florida, but they left at once for Peoria.

A short service will be held tomorrow afternoon at the E. J. Powers residence in Decorah, with the Rev. Father Nolan of St Benedict's Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be made in the Catholic Cemetery.

Mrs. Halvorson was born in Howard county.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Halvorson, a former resident of Decorah, and three children. One brother, Mr. Powers of Decorah, and two sisters, Mrs. Evangeline Kotzebue, and Sister Stanislus of the Sisters of Mercy, Fairfax, Iowa, survive.
