Dennis Wayne Boggess

Dennis Wayne Boggess, 60, died Monday Aug. 17, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

A Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday in the Chapel at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City.

Dennis was born Sept. 8, 1948, in Charles City, the son of Glenn E. and Katherine Mackamul Boggess. He was a graduate of Charles City High School in 1967. On June 22, 1974 he was united in marriage to Kimberly Paulsen.

He had served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war.

He had owned and operated Denny’s Auto Body in Floyd and Cedar Falls for several years. Denny enjoyed fast cars and snowmobiles. He was a lifetime member of AMVETS.

Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Hull of Mason City and Carey Thompson of Laramie, Wy.; two sons, Brent Boggess and Dana Anders, both of Cedar Rapids; a sister, Shirley Moyle of Chickasaw; and a brother Kenneth Boggess of Charles City. Ten grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers: Wilbur and Carl.
