Lea A. Stinehart Morische, 68

NORA SPRINGS. IOWA -- Lea A. Morische, 68, died Friday, April 5, 1996, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, south of Osage, with Vicar Paul Mundinger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home, Osage.

Lea was born October 7, 1927 at Milford, the daughter of Jeddie and Margaret (Lambertus) Stinehart. She was baptized Nov. 27, 1927 at the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. She was confirmed April 30, 1944 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City. She attended Mason City schools and graduated from Mason City High School in 1946. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and Iowa Hardware Mutual Insurance.

Lea married Gene Morische on March 19, 1951 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Mason City. After spending three years with her husband in the military they made their home and farmed in Mitchell County. Lea was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church south of Osage. She was a part-time church organist and a member of LWML. Lea was a talented seamstress and a loving mother and grandmother.

The family requests memorials be made to St. John's Lutheran Church.

Lea is survived by her husband, Gene of Nora Springs; one son, Gary Morische of Rudd; two grandchildren, Steven Allen Morische and Alesha Christine Morische. Also surviving are two sisters, June Stinehart of Mason City, and Betty Schulte and her husband, Robert of West Des Moines; two brothers, Orville Stinehart and his wife, Dolores of Clear Lake, and Alfred Stinehart and his wife, Opal of Mason City; one brother-in-law, Arnold Luker of Mason City; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Penny; and two sisters, Helen Barnhill and Ethel Luker.
