Oswald Glomsda, 82, of Sussex, Wisconsin, died Wednesday morning, June 3, 2009, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wis.

Pastor Dennis Niezwaag of the Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City.

Oswald Glomsda was born June 13, 1926, in Germany, the son of Paul and Martha (Joswig) Glomsda. He attended three years of bakery trade school in Germany. After being a baker for many years Oswald retired from Kohl’s Bakery in Milwaukee, Wis. Oswald was a member and volunteer at the Senior Center in Sussex, Wis. His interests included gardening, flowers, biking and taking care of his apartment complexes and his own home.

Living family members include two brothers, Arnold Glomsda and Helmut Glomsda both of Germany; two sisters, Christel (Otto) Radtke of Germany and Hildegard Ennen of Charles City, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Peter (Olympia) Glomsda, Ursel (Gustav), Karl-Heinz Glomsda, Barbel (Wilfried) Herbes, Thomas (Sabina) Glomsda, Christian (Sabina) Glomsda, Martin (Ute) Glomsda, Norbert Glomsda and Gerlind Glomsda all of Germany, Monika (Robert) Teeple of Greene, Iowa, Erika (Tom) Ennen of Conway, S.C., Jurgen (Marlene) Ennen of Homestead, Iowa, Werner (Marian) Ennen of Eau Claire, Wis, Manfred (Kathy) Ennen of Raymond, Iowa and Ingrid (Tom) Matousek of Prairie du Chien, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margaret Glomsda; two sister-in-laws, Inge Glomsda and Ursel Glomsda; and brother-in-law, Friederich Ennen.
