NORA SPRINGS, IOWA - Eleanor Rose Weber 76, of 2 Ponderosa Court, Nora Springs, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday June 6, 2009, at Hogan Bremer Moore Colonial Chapel 126 3rd Street N.E. Mason City, with Pastor Art Zewert officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the family in memory of Eleanor.

Eleanor was born April 15, 1933, the daughter of Phillip and Francis (Sodawasser) Weber, in Mason City, Iowa. She married Orville Charles Weber on June 5, 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa, and to this union 3 children were born. Most of her life, Eleanor was a housewife working at home, raising her children. She also worked for Americare for several years as a home health aide, and at the Dew Drop Inn and at Damon’s department store.

Eleanor was a hard worker, who had a place for everything. She enjoyed her flowers, especially roses, antiquing, and playing Bingo. She loved JFK, Elvis Presley and John Wayne. Eleanor was also a member of St. James Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children Debbie (Marty) Cordes, Thornton and their children, Kara, Krista and Kristian Cordes, Diane (Doug) Adams, Storm Lake and their children, Michelle, Matthew and Michael Adams, and Douglas (Patsy) Weber, Ashton, one other grandchild, Jessica, one great grandchild, and her very special friend of 40 years, Les Miller, Mason City.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip King and Francis Read, her husband Orville Charles, her mother and father-in-law, Ida and William F.A. Weber, and Emma S. Sodawasser “Little Grandma.”
