CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Loretta Kehret, 91, of Charles City died Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City.

Funeral services for Loretta Kehret will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Pastor Gary Van Wert will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Charles City. Friends may call at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue at the church an hour prior to the service.

Loretta Lillian Moltz Kehret was born May 25, 1918, at Huron S.D., the daughter of Fred and Martha (nee Dahlke) Moltz. She received her education at Wolsey, S.D., and graduated from Charles City High School and Hamilton Business College.

On July 5, 1944, she was united in marriage to Oscar Kehret at Austin, Minnesota. Loretta worked for Equitable Life Insurance from 1939-1944, the adjutant general of Texas from 1944-1945 and for more than 22 years at Oliver/White Farm Equipment Co.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Faith Circle, Charles City Senior Citizens, and retired UAW Workers. Her interests included gardening, flowers, sewing, wildlife, horses and listening to gospel music. Loretta looked forward to sharing her life with her family, always taking special interest in her grandchildren.

Living family members include two sons: Douglas (Maxine) Kehret of Waterloo and Dale (Colleen) Kehret of Charles City; five grandchildren: Mindy (Mitch) McIntosh, Dan (Alissa) Kehret, Bill Kehret, Kelly (Brian) Johnson and Jennifer Kehret; a great-grandson, Eli Kehret; and two sisters-in-law, Leona Kehret of Pinetop, Ariz., and Eloise (Glenn) Petersen of Urbandale.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on April 24, 2003; two sisters, Hazel Teeple and Evelyn Langbehn; and two brothers, Archie Moltz and V.F. "Bud" Moltz.
