Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 18, 1988, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, rural Osage, for James R. Klemesrud, 63, of Floyd. The Rev. Perry Brown of Charles City officiated, and burial was in Rock Creek cemetery. Mr. Klemesrud died on Saturday, October 15, 1988 en route to Floyd County Memorial Hospital, Charles City, of an apparent heart attack.

Mr. Klemesrud was born December 13, 1924 in Charles City to Olaf C. and Marguerite (Kafstad) Klemesrud. He received his education in Minnesota and at Rudd High School.

Pn April 11, 1942, he was married to Helen Hansen at Nora Springs. He was retired, having been employed by Charles City Street Commission.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Helen of Charles City; one daughter, Mrs. William (Kathleen) Jacobs of Charles City; four sons: Normand of rural Charles City, Greg of Charles City, James of New Richmond, Wisconsin, and William of Storm Lake; and 11 grandchildren.
