CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Lester T. Bill, 83, a resident of 616 First Ave., died on Wednesday, May 14, 1997, at the Liebe Care Center, Greene, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Karen Rask Behling officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens near Charles City.

Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. today at the Hauser Funeral Home, Inc. 1205 S. Main St., and from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.

Lester Thomas Bill was born on January 27, 1914, at Roanoke, Illinois.

Survivors include his wife, Edith of Charles City; four sons, Gerald Bill and Raymond Bill, both of Charles City; Roger Bill of Des Moines, and Duane Bill of Fort Dodge; four daughters, Marilyn Bromley of Evanston, Illinois; Barbara Hanson of Broomfield, Colorado; Dianna Boehmer of Genoa, Illinois, and Darlene "Dolly" Chesnut of Iowa City; 27 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 10 sisters, Clara Parker and Florence Wells, both of Olympia, Washington; Dorothy Logan, Grace Waddell, Violet Klassen, Frieda Hart and Arlene Carr, all of Charles City; Elsie Conway and Myrtle Albright, both of Greene, and Edith Wedner of Genoa, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, three brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be directed to the Heart to Home Hospice or Saint John Evangelical Lutheran Church, both of Charles City.
