Funeral services for Vickie Sue Hildebrand, 47, of 408 North First, Greene, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 10, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene, with Pastor Jerry Thordsen officiating. Private Inurnment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, October 9, 2008, at Reid’s Funeral Chapel, 519 N. First St., Greene, and will continue at the church one hour before services on Friday.

Vickie Sue Hildebrand was born April 28, 1961, at Cedar Valley Hospital in Charles City, a daughter of Harm and Janet (Maxwell) Schipper and died Tuesday, October 7, 2008, at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City.

She received her education in the Greene Public Schools graduating from Greene High School in 1979. Vickie was baptized and confirmed a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greene where she was a faithful member. Vickie participated in the Senior High Choir for four years and was also involved with the Speech and Drama Clubs. Following graduation she worked as a nurses aide at the 9th St. Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City. After fifteen years of employment she was forced to retire for health issues.

Vickie was united in marriage to Dale Hildebrand on November 23, 1979, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greene. To that union two sons were born, Zachary Dale, November 28,1983, and Tanner Dale, May 25, 1992. The marriage ended in divorce fifteen years later.

She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and collecting bride dolls and Indian Memorabilia, which she did for many years. Vickie like to watch TV, especially the programs Reba and House Hunters. She had a great love for domestic animals. She shared her home with three cats and a ferret but would find homes for any strays that might happen by. Vickie’s greatest joys were spending quiet times alone at home with Jeff , watching Tanner play his video games, and visiting with her mother each morning over breakfast.

Vickie is survived by her son: Tanner Hildebrand of Greene; mother: Janet Schipper of Greene; significant friend and companion: Jeff Winters of Greene; her beloved pets: cat Mittens, cat Max, cat Little Baby Boy; and ferret Freddie.

She is preceded in death by her son: Zachary Hildebrand, July 29, 2005; father: Harm Schipper, December 21, 2003.
