ROLLETTE, N.D. - Viva Sessions, 93, of Rollette, died Saturday (Jan. 25, 1997) at Presentation Care Center. Burial was in North Dakota, with memorial services at a later date in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Viva was born March 26, 1903, in Waverly, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Nellie Du Vall. She was married to James Sessions on June 20, 1943.

She lived in Nora Springs, Iowa, until November of 1995, where she was an active member of the United Methodist Church and choir. She was a 50-year member of the American Federation of Musicians and local 230. She played piano with the Ponderosa Boys, entertaining for many years.

Survivors include her niece, Donna (Fred) Julien of Nora Springs, Iowa; half-sisters, Anne Sturm of North Dakota, and Dorothy Benny of Alabama; half-brother, Robert Du Vall of Florida; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, one sister and three half-brothers.
