CHARLES CITY, IOWA -- Bertha M. Carter, 3111 250th St., Charles City, died on Friday (December 27, 1996) at Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St., with the Rev. Friederike Tarr, pastor of Colwell United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Friday.

Bertha May Carter was born on September 8, 1899, at Charles City.

Survivors include a brother, Earl Carter of Alexandria, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one infant sister.
