CHARLES CITY, IOWA - Alvina Howe, 96, died Saturday, December 14, 1996, at the Ninth Street Chautauqua Guest Home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Stanley Hayek and the Rev. Walter Brunkan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Hauser Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
The St. Joseph's Circle will recite the Rosary at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where there will also be a parish vigil scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Alvina Frances Vala Howe was born January 1, 1900, in Roseville, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband, John, of Charles City; two daughters, Virginia Brinkman and Evelyn Jensen, both of Charles City; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one grandson, six brothers and one sister.
