MARBLE ROCK, IOWA — Roger M. Reinhart, 87, of 2829 Dancer Avenue, Marble Rock, died Friday (Feb. 4, 2005) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

There will be no services or visitation as Roger has donated his remains to the University of Iowa College of Medicine for scientific purposes. Following, his remains will be cremated and interred at the Westside Cemetery in Marble Rock.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Roger Reinhart Memorial Fund in care of the family, or to the Marble Rock First Responders or Hospice of North Iowa.

Roger Mervin Reinhart was born on Aug. 22, 1917, in rural Marble Rock, Scott Township, son of Clarence and Olive (Dunning) Reinhart. He received his education in the rural Scott Township Schools and graduated from the Marble Rock High School in 1935.

Following high school he went to Moline, Ill. to work for John Deere. On Feb.16, 1940, he was united in marriage to Beth E. Hillman at the Methodist Parsonage in Charles City.

In 1940, he started farming west of Marble Rock in Scott Township, where he farmed until his retirement in 1980. He was also Scott Township Trustee and served on the Floyd County A.S.C.S. Committee.

Living family members include his wife, Beth, of Marble Rock; one daughter, Karen Yvonne Reinhart of Mason City; one sister, Thelma Carman of Des Moines; and several nieces; and nephews.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Luella Stover and Ruth Thorne.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid's Funeral Chapel, 423 Bradford Street, Marble Rock, Iowa. Reid's Funeral Chapel, (641) 823-4457.
