NORA SPRINGS, IOWA — Edna P. Miller, 79, of 907 W. Congress St. in Nora Springs, formerly of Rudd, died Wednesday (Jan. 12, 2005) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Rudd United Methodist Church, 611 Sixth St. in Rudd, with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs.

Edna Pearl (Hines) Miller was born on July 3, 1925, in Borgess, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Lena Pearl (Lee) Hines. She graduated from Joy High School, in Joy, Illinois. After high school, Edna lived in Alaska and Oklahoma.

Edna then moved to Illinois and worked at Jenkins Truckline in Moline, Illinois, as a secretary. While working at Jenkins Truckline, her son, John, introduced her to her future husband, Harold.

On Dec. 14, 1957, Edna married Harold Miller in Lamont, Iowa. Later in life, Edna worked at Diamond Transportation, Sears, and sold Tupperware, where she earned the nickname the "Tupperware Lady".

She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, traveling, going out to eat with Harold, and making her famous baked beans.

She was a member of Rudd United Methodist Church in Rudd.

Edna is survived by her husband, Harold Miller, of Rudd; her three children, John (Ann) O'Donnell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Maureen (Curtis) Schroeder of Guttenberg and Mary (Kent) Ullmann of Titonka, Iowa. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Candace Davenport, Kathy Ann O'Donnell, Matthew (Tammy) O'Donnell and Michael O'Donnell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jessica (Kevin) Wallace of Dubuque, Iowa, Joshua (Barbie) Steere of New Hartford, Iowa, Jonathan Claycamp of Guttenberg, Iowa, Allison, Thomas, Emily, Chad Ullmann of Titonka; five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Adam Davenport, Danielle and Courtney O'Donnell and Brady Steere; several special nieces and nephews; one sister, Laura Rieverts, of Hillsdale, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Edith Shepard, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Pat Hines, of Aurora, Colo.; and one brother-in-law, Clair Reiling, of Winthrop, Iowa.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary and Ruth; two brothers, Earl and Frank; and two brothers-in-law, Morris and Lee.
