VIOLA V. WILTSE
CHARLES CITY, IOWA — Viola V. Wiltse, 88, of Charles City, died Thursday (Aug. 12, 2004) at her home.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Wesleyan Church, 913 S. Main, Charles City, with the Rev. Ted Clark officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hauser Funeral Home, 1205 S. Main St. in Charles City, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
Viola Velma Freebury was born Aug. 29, 1915, north of Bassett, Floyd County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Della (Bell) Freebury. She was raised and educated in Chickasaw County.
She was united in marriage to Orme M. Wiltse Sr. on December 7, 1933, in Austin, Minnesota. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in the Chickasaw and Floyd areas.
Viola worked for the Club Iowa supper club for 29 years. Viola was a member of the First Christian Church. She held a passion for playing cards, eating out for lunch, reading and talking on the phone. She especially loved spending time with children and grandchildren, family and friends.
Those thankful for having shared in her life are her children, Orme “Jake” (Lori) Wiltse Jr., of Charles City, William (Sharon) Wiltse, of Niles, Mich., Robert (Cindy) Wiltse, of Charles City, Jerry (Jean) Wiltse, of Charles City, Alice (Eldon) Beck, of Slidell, La., Ruth (Kenneth) Beckner, of Nashua, and Mary (Don) Tumilson, of Nashua; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Doug Beck; two great-grandsons, James Ohden Jr., and Robbie Tumilson; one brother; and three sisters.
