Myrtle Sherbon, 76, died Saturday, December 13, 2003. Services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Charles City, Floyd county, Iowa. Burial will be in Sunnyside Memory Gardens, south of Charles City. Visitation will be from 4 til 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at Sunnyside Chapel Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church.
Myrtle was born the daughter of Otto and Bertha (Thiem) Mohring. She was a life long member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City. This is also where she received the sacrament of Holy Baptism and Confirmation. Her greatest joy in life was her family and had recently extended that to include the "grandchildren" of the Foster Grandparent Program.
Left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Geneva (John) Rima of Charles City; a son, Darrell Sherbon of Charles City; and grandchildren, Miranda (Matthew) Temple of Charles City, Brant (Christina) Sherbon of St. Paul, Minn., Reggie Rima, Charles City; a great-grandchild, Chloe Temple of Charles City. Myrtle is also survived by two brothers, Alfred and Ervin (Madonna) both of Charles City; a sister, Margaret (Nate) Blanck of Waterloo; and two sisters-in-law, Betty (Mrs. Otto) Mohring of Charles City and Arlene (Mrs. Ernest) of Anamosa. Several nieces, nephews and friends will also cherish the memory of Myrtle.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernest and Otto (Jr.) Mohring and a sister, Doris Banks.
